Christ in the Field

Christ in the Field, originally uploaded by deanv41.

The statuary around the museums in Golden Gate Park are an eclectic bunch. This figure of Christ is opposite the Cervantes Monument, Don Quixote kneeling with Sancho Panza for deliverance and honor. Some is left over from expositions, fairs and follies. The statues are a major attraction for me to GGP even if they are often neglected in the overgrowth. To think they are always out there representing us in the fog and cold, in the sun and light, in the dark park forever.
