Fever Ray Arrives

The new Fever Ray album, a solo project from the sister in The Knife, has a visual allure in its chilled pop art edges. At times, it occupies dub-step grooves, at others it is a Caribbean sun on the Nordic scene as bright & brittle as Bjork's Vespertine moments; the crunch of mukluks on untrammeled snow. As much as folks say The Knife as well as Fever Ray cast a dark coldness, I bask in its blinding low rays that make a midwinter's afternoon so brilliant and bearable.
