Noe Venable in the Berkeley Hills with Maybeck

I attended a wonderful concert featuring Noe Venable in Berkeley last week. Up in the Hills, inside a great hall invented by Bernard Maybeck were songs, dragons, wine, cheese, light & shadows with a bridge connecting the building's two parts. Maybeck was the early 20th century bohemian architect, teacher, and mentor to Julia Morgan. His influence on the arts and crafts of the Bay Area is immense and wonderful.
Gregory Moore now lives there and hosts the gatherings.
I sensed Mystical California in his home; glowing and glowering; mischievous druids singing round notes to the dragons.
