A friend and i drove south toward San Jose to see the remnants of the bayside town of Drawbridge. It is in the wetlands just by Alviso with commanding views of the South Bay. A bird sanctuary and increasingly naturalized again into the ecosystem after decades of industrial abuse, the area is a remarkable part of The Bay Area that is returning to its origins even as the landscape around it continues toward its Silicon Decay.
