Uprising: Memory

1956 Monument (1)
In a city chock-a-block full of monuments, this is my favorite: The 1956 Uprising Memorial in Budapest's Heroes' Square. It so perfectly represents what might be achieved by individuals acting together toward one sharp goal.
what we might achieve if we act together
It stands where, on the night of October 23rd, 1956, a group of protesters pulled down an enormous statue of Stalin leaving only the shoes on a giant plinth.
From Many: One
Though the Uprising was brutally suppressed it proved an ember glowing underground until it eventually helped burned the old state down.
