I have a soft spot for Volkswagens.
We had a family van in Germany in the late 1960s.
We brought it over to The States and drove it up the Al-Can Highway to Alaska in 1971.
I had my own '73 model yellow love bug in the college in the 80s. I drove it all over the country.
I still notice their abundance in Mexico when I visit. The vintage rounded beetles, though, are no longer manufactured and on the wane. Even Mexico has ceased making them.
They're becoming more rare in San Francisco, so I often take a snapshot when I see one.
I especially like the rich color of this one in contrast to South of Market's gray palette.
