The Indonesian Consulate SF

Tucked all around San Francisco are various consulates, some grand, some modest.

The Nigerian Consulate in posh Pacific Heights has been abandoned for a decade and is currently a squatter's shelter. Recent publicity has prompted the Nigerian Government to address the problem and properly maintain the site.

Here is a more stately example, The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia on Columbus Avenue & Francisco Street, at the foot of Russian Hill near Fisherman's Wharf. It doesn't trumpet itself, but i find its rooflines and subtle, staggered design to be reminiscent of the South Pacific. It also seems fully occupied and well-kept.The Indonesian Consulate SF by deanv41
