People are often surprised to stumble onto One Jackson Place, an old factory complex spanning the blocks between Jackson, Pacific, Sansome and Battery Streets. It has a New Orleans look to it, with wrought-iron balconies, show lights, and gas lamps along its public corridor. In the center of it is a cafe. The whole block is a vision in brick of what The Barbary Coast one was and may yet be again.
