I'm not surprised that Ramen has finally taken off in San Francisco. When I returned from Japan in 2001, I was infused with the warmth of a true bowl of noodles taken in a biting wintertime, served by a sassy Obasan (auntie) at the local Ramen House where i lived in Inuyama, Central Japan. It's one of my fondest memories of my time there.
I haven't tried this new place yet on Kearny Street, but I like the looks of it -- very small and specialized. When the weather turns colder, i'll give it a go.
