Revisiting Turrell's Oculus

I was reminded when my sister revisited San Francisco, a few months after her first trip, of a some favorite sites she wanted to see with the rest of her family.
One in particular is Three Gems. I went to see it again in Golden Gate Park on Labor Day. It's a Skyspace by James Turrell set inside a great mound in the garden of the New DeYoung. This earthwork and oculus is incredibly calming and powerful, always changing but very still at the same time. It is a place of pure pleasure that connects the city with the cosmos.
