Dragon's Day

Just when you think Chinese New Year is over, it roars back to life. The Lunar New Year was officially on January 23rd, but the City's official Dragon Parade took place this past Sunday. It's quite a sight. Chinatown itself is packed with people enjoying the atmosphere during the day.

After dark, the downtown streets are lined with parade watchers viewing an endless number of dancers, lions, bands, and small dragons that precede the main event, the march of the Great Dragon.
It's a beloved couple of weeks in Chinatown that culminate in a wonderful, loud, and colorful spectacle. Here's a lesser dragon making its way up Jackson Street near the end of the parade route.
